Privacy Policy

EzMap is built local-first: your maps, stands, and hunt data live on your device, not our servers. We collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data. The app itself contains no ads, analytics, or third-party trackers — your stands, tracks, and locations never leave your device unless you turn on sync. Our public marketing pages use Meta Pixel so our advertising works; it never runs inside the app. Details below.

What stays on your device

Your markups (stands, cameras, trails, and more), properties—including boundaries you draw—sit logs, GPS tracks, photos, notes, and settings are stored locally on your phone or browser. We can’t see any of it unless you turn on cloud sync or sharing.

What we send, and only to make the app work

• Weather & elevation. To show wind, thermals, and forecasts, the map location you’re viewing (latitude/longitude) is sent to Open-Meteo. It isn’t tied to your identity.
• Maps & property lines. Aerial imagery and parcel data stream from map providers (such as Esri, county GIS services, and OpenStreetMap). The coordinates you’re viewing are sent to load those tiles, governed by each provider’s terms.
• License & payment. When you buy or validate Pro, your license key is sent to our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, which handles the transaction and your payment details. We never see or store your card number.
• Cloud backup & sync (Pro, optional). If you turn on sync, your stands and properties are backed up to our sync service (Cloudflare) under an anonymous key derived from your license — no name or email attached. You can turn it off and delete the cloud copy at any time.
• Sharing (optional). If you share your map, or join a buddy’s with a share code, the shared markups and properties become readable by anyone who has that code. Trophy Room photos you upload are stored on Cloudflare and viewable by your camp. Only share codes with people you trust.
• Crew Mode (optional). While Crew Mode is on, your phone sends its GPS position and the crew name you chose to our sync service about every 30 seconds, and anyone who holds the same farm code can see it. Positions are kept only until they go stale (10 minutes after your last check-in) and are removed when you turn Crew Mode off; it also turns itself off after 12 hours. Nothing is sent while it is off.
• County requests. If you ask us to add a county, we record the county name only — no personal information — so we can prioritize coverage.

What we don’t do

• No accounts — no email or password required to use EzMap.
• No advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking inside the app, and no selling your data. The only tracker anywhere is Meta Pixel on our public marketing pages — see “Marketing pages & Meta Pixel” below.
• No background location tracking — GPS is used only while the app is open, to show your position on the map.

Marketing pages & Meta Pixel

Our public marketing pages — the home page, pricing, the Missouri rut dates page, the ad landing page, install, invite, and post-purchase pages — load Meta Pixel, a tracker from Meta (Facebook). It reports visits to those pages, clicks on buttons like opening the app or starting checkout, and completed purchases to Meta so we can measure our ads and reach people likely to want EzMap. It does not run inside the app at /map, and it is not loaded when one of these pages is opened from inside the installed app, and nothing you do in the app — your location, stands, properties, or hunts — is ever sent to Meta. Ad blockers stop the pixel, and you can manage how Meta uses this data in your Meta ad preferences. See Meta’s privacy policy for how Meta handles it. The same marketing pages also use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-free page-view counter from our hosting provider, and remember for 30 days which link brought you here (an ad, a card, a buddy) so a purchase can be credited to it; that short source label is the only extra thing sent to Lemon Squeezy with an order. Neither runs inside the app. If you sign up for rut phase alerts, we keep that email address only to send those alerts (about six a season) and delete it when you unsubscribe.

Your control

You can export or delete your data from within the app at any time. Deleting the app or clearing site data removes your local data. Turning off sync stops cloud backup, and you can delete your cloud copy. Because EzMap is local-first, your browser may also clear locally-stored data on its own — see our Terms of Service for how to protect against that.

Children

EzMap isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
