Privacy Policy

EzMap is built local-first: your maps, stands, and hunt data live on your device, not our servers. We collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data, show ads, or run third-party trackers.

What stays on your device

Your markups (stands, cameras, trails, and more), properties—including boundaries you draw—sit logs, GPS tracks, photos, notes, and settings are stored locally on your phone or browser. We can’t see any of it unless you turn on cloud sync or sharing.

What we send, and only to make the app work

• Weather & elevation. To show wind, thermals, and forecasts, the map location you’re viewing (latitude/longitude) is sent to Open-Meteo. It isn’t tied to your identity.
• Maps & property lines. Aerial imagery and parcel data stream from map providers (such as Esri, county GIS services, and OpenStreetMap). The coordinates you’re viewing are sent to load those tiles, governed by each provider’s terms.
• License & payment. When you buy or validate Pro, your license key is sent to our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, which handles the transaction and your payment details. We never see or store your card number.
• Cloud backup & sync (Pro, optional). If you turn on sync, your stands and properties are backed up to our sync service (Cloudflare) under an anonymous key derived from your license — no name or email attached. You can turn it off and delete the cloud copy at any time.
• Sharing (optional). If you share your map, or join a buddy’s with a share code, the shared markups and properties become readable by anyone who has that code. Trophy Room photos you upload are stored on Cloudflare and viewable by your camp. Only share codes with people you trust.
• County requests. If you ask us to add a county, we record the county name only — no personal information — so we can prioritize coverage.

What we don’t do

• No accounts — no email or password required to use EzMap.
• No advertising, no analytics, no third-party tracking, and no selling or sharing your data for marketing.
• No background location tracking — GPS is used only while the app is open, to show your position on the map.

Your control

You can export or delete your data from within the app at any time. Deleting the app or clearing site data removes your local data. Turning off sync stops cloud backup, and you can delete your cloud copy. Because EzMap is local-first, your browser may also clear locally-stored data on its own — see our Terms of Service for how to protect against that.

Children

EzMap isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
